“Creativity and being around creative people has been my drive”

Saidah Blount is a New York City-based brand and marketing executive known for her focus on music culture. A Senior Manager and Executive Producer at Sonos, she has helped to establish and develop new sonic and cultural platforms for the company. This includes Sonos Radio, positioning the company as an emerging leader in the music and content space.

In the past, Saidah has worked with a number of innovative and influential media outlets and brands. Notalbly NPR Music, The Fader, Adidas, Punchdrunk, Spotify, and Topshop. How does a music fan go from mid-west America to curating SONOS Radio in New York City?

SONOS, perhaps most well known for wireless speakers, has chosen to develop a radio and streaming service. Saidah Blount comes up with new ways to engage listeners to listen. Hers is a unique path through the music ecosystem with a lot of familiar touchstones. College radio led to a trip to New York City. Time at graduate school allowed Saidah to take full advantage of New York City’s nightlife. The result of this was a realization that music is what Saidah really wanted to immerse herself in.  She began making connections. Today Saidah’s role at SONOS has her fully immersed in music.

Sonos Radio is committed to elevating the art of music discovery. It is striving to remind people about how epic music can be, and how it deserves to be an integral part of your life.

#HowWeListen Live: In Conversation is a monthly online event that will be presented in two parts:

  1. A workshop: Tips & insights for tomorrow’s artists & music industry leaders with Byta founder Marc Brown.
