Where are you based?

I am based between NYC and Western Pennsylvania.

Where do you work? What do you do?

I’m an educator, performer and composer. I work predominantly in the new media space with a concentration on electronic music and analogue technology.

What are you listening to?

I’m listening to: @leemlizzy, @voltagectlr, @afrikansciences, @conductorwilliams (all on Instagram)

And, classics from Kerri Chandler, Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Basic Channel etc.

How do you discover new music?

Thankfully I am an active member of a robust music community. My peers and my children keep me plugged into a wide range of music. Blogs were once very much a part of my discovery but unfortunately, alot of the once prominent blogs do not exist.

What formats do you usually listen to? LP, CD, Cassette, Digital, Streaming Services? Why?

I still manufacture and distribute cassettes via my independent label PRIZMLABS.

I enjoy thrifting and digging so I have means for listening to every format from vinyl to cassette. CDs are still prevalent in my car.

“Hard drive space for high-resolution downloads is ALWAYS a frustration. Streaming links are more ideal for me.”

Where do you do most of your music listening?

I mix and master for various clients so I try to have varied listening environments. It can be tricky to deliver a mix that works across different mediums.

How do you find and listen to pre-release music?

Good question. Having a platform to deliver high-fidelity mixes was of interest to me.

What are your frustrations with listening to music digitally? Any benefits?

Hard drive space for high-resolution downloads is ALWAYS a frustration. Streaming links are more ideal for me!

How do you keep track of everything you are listening to?

I mostly check new artists via: instagram. I create folders there too.
