Watermarking – Detect Watermark

Users with the Watermarking bolt can upload MP3 files to detect if they contain a Byta watermark. Byta’s Watermarking is a mostly inaudible stamp on the file that links to the intended recipient’s email address.

If you suspect a file has been leaked and would like to track the source, you can upload the file to our detector to extract the original recipient’s email address using the steps below. 

1. Visit Watermark detect page via your account menu (click your user name in the sidebar.)
2. Click ‘Upload Audio File’
3. Attach the MP3 file
4. Click ‘Check File For Watermark’
5. If the uploaded file contains a watermark, the recipient’s email address will be displayed on the screen (this may take a few moments).
